It’s a Date!

The inaugural South by Deep South will be held September 26th-28th in Birmingham, Alabama.

We're still working on the number of tracks, but they will include:

	Social Media/PR/Marketing
	Web development
	A full-blown WordCamp

That's right -- a full-blown WordCamp, the first we know of to be announced in the Southeastern United States.

Oh... there will be ...

Birmingham Barcamp

The second Birmingham BarCamp is coming in less than two weeks. We imagine many of the people interested in BarCamp would be equally interested in South by Deep South.

Locations and times:

BarCampBirmingham Friday night party / dinner / drinks mixer

	April 11th, 8 to 11 PM
	Jim 'N Nick's Barbecue, 1908 11th ...

It's becoming clear that we will have several parallel tracks - and will probably need key organizers for each. Nominations? #
Anyone want to contribute some Blog Button designs? #
@spxds - Wow. Our accounts are running the risk of some SERIOUS confusion. #

Blog buttons, anyone?

I know we're not done with the graphics yet, but it's not too soon to have some Blog Buttons so folks can go ahead and kick up a little interest.

If you come up with a design you'd like to share, I'll build a page and we can host them for ...

Expectations

Wow. The response to the notion of SxDS has been many things.

	Awesome
	Humbling
	Scary
	Encouraging
	Diverse

Based on the diversity of the comments (and of the potential areas of interest), it's become apparent that we're looking at the same name (and logo) with different degrees and layers of expectations.

So -- tell us:

We Love LA

LA meaning Louisiana, of course.

And Kentucky, and the Carolinas.

No slight was intended with the graphic. I threw it together very quickly this afternoon, using whatever base graphics I had at hand. (In fact, the whole ball started rolling at 1:30pm when I purchased the domain -- BIG props ...
